Cheerleading

Erika had her first cheerleading performance last night. She has wanted to be an official cheerleader for as long as I can remember. She is learning that it is a sport and there is work involved. She was shocked the first day at practice when they made her run 2 laps around the gym. Then, last night was surprised that she had to stay for the whole game! (In the past, she has performed with the Longview squads as a fundraiser and performed only during half-time of one game.) The whole dedication part is a bit of a surprise to her! But, I think she is liking it. (Yikes!)

Erika, you look so cute. Cheerleadings is a sport, Tina would tell her that. So many bumps and bruises. These girls get strong, lifting girls above their heads. Or catching them as they come out of a tower. With that though, Tina loves it. So much fun.
