Hello. Thought I would post about our weekend as many people ask when I don't post anything. Friday night, Michael had his first Cub Scout Pack meeting. (This is the once a month meeting when all the levels of the pack--Tigers, Wolves (Michael's group), Bears, and Weeblos get together for their awards ceremony. Being new, Michael didn't earn any awards yet, but he got to put his name on the path. He was excited. After all the awards were given, the boys made catapults out of cardboard milk cartons, pencils, rubberbands, and plastic spoons. Then they launched hershey's kisses trying to get them into various containers set a short distance away from them. It was fun. Michael let me try, too. I didn't get the candy in the container either, but Michael still got a goodie bag. He looks very cute in his cub scout uniform. Once we are able to get Erika's patches for her cadet vest, we will post pictures of our 2 scouts.
Saturday there was no swimming (they had a swim meet that we were not able to enter in due to being new) and there was no taiko drumming (they had a karate competition to go to). So, we had a quiet day to work on organizing our things. Saturday night, we got a babysitter and Greg and I went to an adult Halloween party at the officer's club. Not being drinkers or dancers, we didn't stay long, but did have a good time. Afterwards, we drove out to the lighthouse and stood underneath the beams and watched the waves crash against the coast. It was pretty cool.
Sunday has taken us to another beach location. Today we went to Torii Beach on Torii Station (an army base). The tide was out, so the area was pretty shallow, but the kids got to practice with their new snorkels and masks and we had a nice picnic lunch. Afterwards, we had the normal Sunday routine of cleaning house and doing laundry. Ugh. But, at least we got to play first!

How fun with the catapults. Hershey Kisses Yum! Look forwards to seeing the pictures of your two scouts. Did you go look for the drums and take any home?? How nice to have a evening out alone.
We found out that we can purchase the drums from our instructors. We were told that it is hard to find good drums without buying ones that are considered "toys." So, rather than look like crazy Americans showing up with toy drums, we have decided to order the drums from those that know better!
Hee Hee, oh that is funny. No crazy American, yes I'm with ya. Get them from you instructors. :)
For us old people use a different font color on dark back grounds.
This combination of colors do not work for me.
